Lacrimosa dies illa

As part of the Oratorio Choir of Turku Cathedral, and therefore an eager soprano in the biannual Mozart's Requiem concert, I was commissioned to create the visual identity for the concert in year 2022. Consisting of organic digital marketing, ticket resellers' web material, printed posters, leaflets as well as larger scale printed materials such as rollups, I was intrigued to take on the "we trust in your eye" challenge – the most fun and sometimes the most difficult kind of them all.

Adamant to steer away from the obvious religious signifiers without compromising the dignity and legacy the musical work most certainly deserves, I looked at experiments in sprucing up classical art pieces such as paintings and statues. The outcome is paired with an intricate and rather medieval serif arranged in a block that was also adapted into a pattern.
